Chargers Reject Trade Offers, Remain Confident Despite 0-5 Start

The Los Angeles Chargers are not engaging in trade talks as the team faces a winless start to the 2026 season, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. Despite a 0-5 record, the organization reportedly believes it can still salvage the season.

Multiple general managers have contacted Chargers GM Joe Hortiz regarding potential trades, but Hortiz has consistently stated the team is not interested in dealing away players. Several notable players, including Khalil Mack, Bud Dupree, Daiyan Henley, Donte Jackson, Denzel Perryman, Dalvin Tomlinson, and Tuli Tuipulotu, have been mentioned as potential trade candidates.

The Chargers' next challenge is a Week 6 matchup against the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs. This game occurs just before the team's bye week, making a victory particularly crucial for morale and momentum.

This season marks the most disappointing of head coach Jim Harbaugh's three-year tenure. After consecutive seasons with 11 regular-season wins, the Chargers are still seeking their first victory of 2026.

The team entered the season with high expectations, having focused on improving the offensive line and hiring offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel. However, their performance has fallen short of expectations. A win against the Chiefs before their bye could provide a much-needed boost to the struggling squad.
