Chantelle Houghton, 42, has revealed her intention to marry her new boyfriend, Westley O'Bryan, just one month after their relationship was publicly announced. Houghton, who met O'Bryan, a garden center owner, a year ago, stated that their relationship has progressed rapidly and marriage is now a consideration.
Houghton told OK! magazine that she has already selected her wedding dress. She described it as a "very loosely fitted, cream, long sleeved, simple" dress she saw in a shop window near her home. O'Bryan has seen the dress and approved, calling it "classy."
This potential marriage follows Houghton's previous marriage to Preston, 44. The couple met on Celebrity Big Brother and were married in 2006. Their marriage lasted ten months before they divorced. Houghton recently disposed of her first wedding dress, stating it felt "disrespectful" to keep it while with O'Bryan, whom she wishes to spend the rest of her life with.
Regarding her upcoming wedding, Houghton envisions a more intimate affair than her first televised wedding. She stated that this time, she would only invite immediate family and close friends. The focus, she explained, would be on the marriage itself rather than a large public spectacle.
Houghton also reflected on her past marriage to Preston, admitting that she "should never have married Preston." Speaking on the podcast "We Need To Talk," she expressed that her current relationship with O'Bryan is the first time she has felt true love. She described their connection as comfortable and reassuring, feeling "looked after" by him.
She characterized her divorce from Preston as amicable, noting that they had no animosity and parted ways easily. Houghton acknowledged that they might never have met or been attracted to each other in a different context outside of the Big Brother reality show.
Houghton was also previously engaged to Alex Reid, with whom she shares a daughter, Dolly. Their relationship ended in 2011. She also dated Rav Wilding, with their relationship ending in 2012 after a public argument.
