Chancellor Urged to Reform Business Rates System

More than 200 business leaders have signed a letter urging the Chancellor to permanently address what they describe as a "broken" business rates system.

The group of employers is calling for a comprehensive reform to revitalize the country's high streets, which have faced significant challenges.

The signatories represent a diverse range of sectors, including hospitality, retail, arts, and various business improvement districts (BIDs) across the United Kingdom. Their collective appeal highlights a widespread concern among businesses about the current system of property taxation.

Among the signatories are prominent figures from organizations such as UKHospitality, the Institute of Directors, Retail NI, and the Music Venue Trust, alongside numerous individual business owners and representatives from local business associations.
