Chad Lowe Sells Los Angeles Home After Daughter's Death
Actor and wife accept $3.25 million offer on their Mar Vista residence weeks after their 13-year-old daughter's passing.
Actor Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter, have placed their Los Angeles home on the market, accepting an offer of $3.249 million just over two weeks after the death of their daughter, Fiona, who was 13. The couple officially listed the 3,239-square-foot Spanish-style residence on October 16, according to real estate records obtained by TMZ.
The home is reportedly under contract and will proceed to closing if certain contingencies are met. Lowe, 58, and Painter, 52, purchased the property in the Mar Vista neighborhood for $3.15 million in March 2025. The house features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and vaulted ceilings.
A private celebration of life for Fiona was held last weekend, attended by close friends and family, including Lowe, Painter, and Fiona’s sisters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. Lowe's brother, actor Rob Lowe, has also been a source of support for the family.
Fiona died on September 29, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled her death a suicide two days later. In a statement released at the time of Fiona's death, Lowe and Painter described their daughter as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance." They added, "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time." They also shared resources for mental health support, directing individuals to the 988 Suicide + Crisis Lifeline.
Amid his grief, Lowe shared a clip on Instagram Stories on October 8 featuring Irish author Gerry Hussey discussing faith and the afterlife, suggesting a return to a state of peace and love after death. Lowe made his first public appearance since his daughter's passing on October 10 at the Santa Barbara wedding of his nephew, Matthew Lowe. He attended the event with Painter and their daughters.
