Chad Lowe’s Family Honors Late Daughter Fiona with Tributes
Actor's family shares memories and photos following Fiona's death at 13.
The family of actor Chad Lowe is sharing heartfelt tributes to his 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, who died by suicide on Tuesday. Her death was confirmed by the family in a statement to Page Six.
Fiona’s older sister, Mabel, reposted several tributes to her Instagram Stories, including messages from Fiona’s former dance teacher, Kendra Andrews, and the youth club she attended, Widget Works.
Andrews shared videos of Fiona rehearsing dance routines, describing her as passionate and determined. "This first video was taken only a month after you lost your home in the fire," Andrews wrote, referencing the Palisades Fire. "You came into the studio like you always did for all the years I’ve known you … excited with a beaming, bright smile and a big, warm hug for me." She added, "Your passion and determination were incredibly beautiful to witness." Andrews concluded her message by expressing her love for Fiona and stating, "Our hearts are shattered. We will never be the same without you here. I will miss you and love you forever."
Widget Works also shared photos and videos of Fiona enjoying time at the beach. In one video, Fiona is seen chatting about a stuffed pumpkin pillow she named "Mr. Pumpkin." The organization's tribute read, "Thank you, Fiona. Thank you for all the beautiful years we were able to frolic, dance, laugh and love each other. Thank you for being such an important part of our Widget Works family and for sharing your love, creativity and sweet sassiness with us."
Fiona’s mother, Kim Painter, commented on the Widget Works post, writing, "Love you so much."
The Lowe family released a statement expressing their grief: "We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance." The statement also included the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Fiona's cause of death was confirmed as suicide. She was pronounced dead at the hospital on Tuesday.
In the days following her death, Chad Lowe’s father, Charles “Chuck” Lowe, paid tribute to his granddaughter by sharing a photo of her swimming. "Rest in peace, sweet Fiona," he wrote.
Chad Lowe’s former "Bones" co-star David Boreanaz also offered his condolences on Instagram, writing, "My deepest condolences to my friends Chad and Kim with the loss of their beautiful soul, Fiona. May she be surrounded in light and dance in heaven with all the angels."
