Actor Chad Lowe and his family are grieving the loss of their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, who died earlier this week. A source close to the family told Page Six that Fiona was "a very well-liked student" with "a lot of friends."

"We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona," the Lowe family said in a statement to Page Six. "She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance. She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time."

The statement also included a resource for mental health support, urging anyone struggling to reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Fiona's school in Los Angeles confirmed her death in an email to parents, stating, "It is with deep sadness that I am calling you to advise you of the death of one of our students." The principal, who did not name Fiona, offered condolences to the family, friends, and teachers, and noted that counselors were available for emotional support.

Fiona is survived by her parents, Chad Lowe and Kim Painter, and her sisters, Mabel and Nixie. In January 2025, the family's home in the Los Angeles-area was lost in the Palisades fire. At the time, Chad Lowe expressed admiration for his daughters' resilience in the face of that devastation.

Chad Lowe, known for his roles in "Melrose Place" and "Life Goes On," is the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe. He and Kim Painter have been married since August 2010.
