Chad Lowe's Daughter Fiona Dies by Suicide at 13
A family friend revealed that Fiona Lowe experienced a traumatic event the previous year, as her sister shared a poignant tribute.
Fiona Lowe, the 13-year-old daughter of actor Chad Lowe, died by suicide earlier this week, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office has concluded. A family friend told the Daily Mail that Fiona had experienced a traumatic event in the past year that significantly impacted her.
Her older sister, Mabel, 17, has broken her silence with a tribute. "My sister Fiona was a light in this world," Mabel wrote in a statement obtained by Daily Mail. "She was kind, funny, and incredibly talented. She had a unique ability to make everyone around her feel seen and loved. She was a beacon of joy, and her absence leaves a void that can never be filled."
Another close family friend, music executive Mykesha Robinson, described Fiona as "very popular" and noted that Fiona had helped her own daughter, Faith, overcome shyness. Faith and Fiona were close friends, earning the nickname 'FiFi' and were known for being inseparable. Robinson suggested that a destructive fire that impacted their elementary school could have been a contributing factor to Fiona's struggles. The Palisades Fire, which devastated the school in the affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood, occurred last year.
Chad Lowe, known for his roles in "Life Goes On" and "24," is also the father of two other daughters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10, with his wife Kim Painter, whom he married in 2010. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
Fiona was the middle child of Lowe and Painter.
