Chad Lowe's Daughter Fiona Dies at 13, Actor and Friends Share Support

Actor Chad Lowe has announced the death of his 13-year-old daughter, Fiona. Her family confirmed the news to Page Six, stating that Fiona died on Tuesday. Lowe, known for his role in the drama series 'Life Goes On,' is the younger brother of actor Rob Lowe.

In a statement, the family described Fiona as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance." They added, "She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives." The family also directed those struggling with mental health to reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Fiona died at home, and authorities were called to the house early Tuesday morning. Parents at her school reportedly received an email from the principal on Tuesday informing them of a student's death, with the message offering condolences and advising that counselors were available for support.

Friends of Lowe shared their condolences on social media. Actor Cary Elwes, who starred with Chad and Rob Lowe in the 1984 film 'Oxford Blues,' posted on Instagram, "Our hearts are broken for you all. Thinking of you and praying for you. Always."

Marlee Matlin, a friend of Lowe's for nearly four decades, tweeted, "My heart is broken into pieces. Fly high, Fiona Lowe. Love you Chad and Kim."

Lowe, 58, shared Fiona with his producer wife, Kim Painter, 52. The couple also have two other daughters: Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. Lowe was previously married to actress Hilary Swank from 1997 to 2007.

Lowe's Instagram account features numerous photos of his daughters. In November, he paid tribute to Fiona for her birthday, writing, "Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!! Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!"

In January, Lowe shared his experience of losing his home in the Palisades fire in Los Angeles the previous year. He wrote on Instagram about the "anger, despair, and frustration" but highlighted his admiration for his wife and daughters' resilience in the face of the "devastating experience."
