Chad Lowe's Daughter Fiona Dies at 13
The family of actor Chad Lowe confirmed the death of their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, in a statement expressing deep heartbreak.
Fiona Lowe, the 13-year-old daughter of actor Chad Lowe, has died, her family confirmed in a statement released Tuesday.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance,” the family stated. “She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time.”
The statement also included a resource for mental health support, urging those struggling to contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
Fiona was the middle of three daughters Lowe shares with his wife, producer Kim Painter. Their other daughters are Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10.
Lowe, 58, last publicly acknowledged Fiona on Instagram in November 2025, celebrating her 13th birthday. He shared a photo of her wearing cowboy boots and captioned it, “Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!! Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!"
In February 2025, Lowe shared photos of his daughters surveying the damage to their Los Angeles home, which had been destroyed by the Palisades fire. He described his daughters' resilience in the face of the devastation, writing, “The way they’ve handled this whole devastating experience is nothing short of remarkable. I am in awe of their spirit and resilience. Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose. Being their dad is my life’s greatest joy and privilege."
During an appearance on the “Still Here Hollywood” podcast in August 2024, Lowe spoke about the privilege of being a father to three daughters. He reflected on how having them shaped his perspective on equality and societal views of women, stating, “And so I look at the world, really, from their perspective.” He also noted that he believed society was progressing positively.
Chad Lowe and Kim Painter have been married since August 2010. Lowe was previously married to actress Hilary Swank, with whom he finalized a divorce in January 2006 after eight years of marriage.
