Chad Lowe Lists Los Angeles Home Weeks After Daughter's Death
The actor and his wife have accepted an offer on their Spanish-style residence following the tragic loss of their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona.
Actor Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter, have placed their Los Angeles home on the market, listing the property on October 16, just over two weeks after the death of their daughter, Fiona. The couple has already received and accepted an offer of $3.249 million for the 3,239-square-foot Spanish-style house, according to real estate records.
The home, located in the Mar Vista neighborhood, features four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and vaulted ceilings. Lowe and Painter purchased the residence in March 2025 for $3.15 million.
Fiona died on September 29, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner subsequently ruled her death a suicide. The couple announced their daughter's passing with deep heartbreak, describing her in a statement as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance." They added, "She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives."
The family held a private celebration of life for Fiona the weekend before the home was listed, attended by close friends and family, including Lowe, Painter, and Fiona's sisters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. Lowe's brother, actor Rob Lowe, has also been a source of support for the grieving family.
In the wake of their loss, Lowe and Painter have shared resources for mental health support, directing those in need to the 988 Suicide + Crisis Lifeline. Lowe also shared a message about faith and the afterlife on social media, posting a clip from an author discussing connection, peace, and love.
Lowe made his first public appearance since his daughter's death on October 10 at the Santa Barbara wedding of his nephew, Matthew Lowe. He attended the event with Painter and their daughters. The wedding was also attended by celebrities including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Adam Levine, and Katy Perry.
