Chad Lowe Lists Los Angeles Home for Sale Weeks After Daughter's Death
The actor and his wife have placed their Mar Vista residence on the market, which has already received an offer.
Actor Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter, have listed their Los Angeles home for sale approximately three weeks after the death of their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona.
The couple has accepted an offer of $3.249 million for the 3,239-square-foot home located in Mar Vista, though the sale is contingent on certain conditions being met. Lowe and Painter purchased the four-bedroom, three-bathroom property in March 2025 for $3.15 million.
Fiona Lowe died by suicide on September 29. Her family released a statement to Page Six expressing their devastation. "She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents," the statement read. "In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time."
Fiona is survived by her parents and her sisters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. Following her death, Mabel posted an emotional tribute to her sister on Instagram.
A family friend indicated that Fiona had been significantly impacted by the loss of their home in the Palisades fire the previous year, stating that the family "lost everything." The friend described Fiona as a "ray of light."
The Lowe-Painter family held a private celebration of life service for Fiona earlier this month. They also made their first public appearance since Fiona's death on October 10, attending the wedding of Rob Lowe's son, Matthew. Chad Lowe is Rob Lowe's younger brother.
