Chad Lowe Honors Daughter Fiona at Celebration of Life
The actor and his family held a private service for their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, who died by suicide on Sept. 29.
Chad Lowe and his wife, Kim Painter, held a private celebration of life for their daughter Fiona over the weekend. The service memorialized the 13-year-old, who died by suicide on September 29. Only family and close friends were in attendance.
In a statement to Page Six following Fiona's death, the family expressed their grief. "She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents," the statement read. "In fact, she was the light of our lives. Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time."
Fiona is survived by her parents and her sisters, Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. Following Fiona's death, her sister Mabel shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. "I love you so much fiona ❤️ i wish your short time here was easier and i hope your mind is at ease now," Mabel wrote. "I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, i hope you knew just how much."
A friend of the family suggested that Fiona may have been deeply affected by the loss of their home in the Palisades fire the previous year. "Something happened when the fires happened," said music executive Mykesha Robinson, whose daughter was friends with Fiona. "[The family] lost everything."
The Lowe-Painter family made their first public appearance since Fiona's passing on October 10 at the wedding of Matthew Lowe, Chad Lowe's nephew. They were seen with loved ones and other celebrities at the Santa Barbara event. Matthew Lowe is the eldest son of actor Rob Lowe, Chad's older brother.
