Chad Lowe and Wife Honor Late Daughter Fiona at Private Celebration of Life
Weeks after her death by suicide, actor Chad Lowe and casting director Kim Painter held a memorial service for their 13-year-old daughter, Fiona.
Actor Chad Lowe and his wife, casting director Kim Painter, recently held a private celebration of life for their late daughter Fiona, who died by suicide on September 29 at the age of 13. The service was attended by family and close friends.
The couple announced Fiona's passing in September, sharing their devastation over the loss of their daughter, whom they described as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance." They added, "She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives." The family also urged those struggling with mental health to seek help from the suicide prevention helpline.

Earlier this month, Lowe, Painter, and their daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10, made their first public appearance since Fiona's death to attend a relative's wedding. A source told People at the time that the family wanted to be surrounded by loved ones during this difficult period. "Chad and Kim wanted to make sure their daughters were around family and friends and thought it was important for their family to have some moments of joy and be surrounded by those who love them, and loved Fiona, most," the insider said.
Lowe has also returned to social media, sharing a reposted video featuring Irish writer Gerry Hussey discussing the soul and the afterlife. This followed a tribute shared by his brother Rob Lowe's son, John Owen, who posted a poem about hope.

John Owen Lowe shared Emily Dickinson's poem "Hope Is the Thing With Feathers" on his Instagram Stories. Other family members have also paid tribute, including Chad's eldest daughter, Mabel, who shared a series of throwback photos of herself and Fiona.
"I love you so much Fiona," Mabel wrote in her Instagram post. "I wish your short time here was easier and I hope your mind is at ease now. I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive. I love you, I hope you knew just how much."

Fiona's dance teacher, Kendra Andrews, shared a video tribute remembering her student's passion and determination. "FiFi, I love you more than words can convey. It was an honor to teach you, laugh with you, and watch you grow. Our hearts are shattered. We will never be the same without you here. I will miss you and love you forever," Andrews wrote.
The youth group Widget Works, where Fiona was a participant, also shared a tribute, remembering her "love, creativity and sweet sassiness." The organization stated, "We will miss you, and we will look for you in every wave, every seagull squawk, and we will chant your name amongst the 'we are proud of yous.'"

In August, Chad Lowe spoke about the privilege of being a "girl dad" on the Still Here Hollywood podcast. "Having daughters is such an incredible privilege," he said. "It takes what I've known intellectually about women and all of equality and the glass ceiling that's there, and how it's a misogynistic world in a lot of ways... And it's put it in my heart, because I have three daughters. And so I look at the world, really, from their perspective."

Lowe married Painter after his 10-year marriage to actress Hilary Swank ended in divorce in 2007. He won an Emmy Award in 1993 for his supporting role on the comedy-drama series Life Goes On.
