Investigators are appealing for witnesses who were present at the pub between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on the night of the assault. The pub, known for its weekend karaoke and live music, shared the police appeal on its social media, urging anyone with information to come forward.
The victim, born in 1924, is described by locals as a regular at the pub, known for being pleasant but sometimes confused. The assault occurred during a period when King George V was on the throne and Ramsay MacDonald had formed Britain's first Labour government.
