Celebrity Traitors Winners Reveal Paranoia Over Keeping Show Secret
Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian Croft discuss the challenges of maintaining secrecy around the show's outcome.
Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian 'Bash' Croft, the winners of Celebrity Traitors, have revealed the intense paranoia they experienced keeping the show's outcome a secret for months. The pair, who split the £83,000 prize money, shared that the need for secrecy "killed" them and made them wary of public appearances together.
The nail-biting final, which saw Ranganathan and Croft crowned victors, was watched by 11.2 million viewers, making it the most-watched show of 2026 to date. The secret, however, proved a significant burden.
"We met for dinner in central, central London [a few weeks ago] having dinner and we’re not exactly a likely duo and the whole restaurant was like 'we like you on Traitors and hope you win'," Croft recounted. He expressed relief, stating, "I woke up this morning with a light sense that I don’t need to keep this secret anymore, it was killing me."
Fans praised the duo for their performance, particularly for outmaneuvering Traitors Maya and Kenny. Ranganathan noted that his social media notifications were filled with comments from viewers thanking Croft for "saving" him. He emphasized his trust in Croft, stating, "I just trusted you so much and did not waiver from that belief."
Leigh-Anne Pinnock, who participated in the show while three months pregnant, described the experience as emotionally challenging but felt like "Super Woman." She remarked on Ross Kemp's intense scrutiny, noting he "was really gunning for me."
Host Claudia Winkleman sent a congratulatory message to the contestants, calling them "phenomenal" and specifically congratulating Ranganathan and Croft on their win.
During the final, Ranganathan expressed his disbelief and hope that his mother would be proud. He highlighted his biggest takeaway as forming a friendship with Croft, saying, "relying on the fact that I thought he was a friend in that end game and that paying off, that is something I feel really good about."
Croft became emotional, calling it potentially "the best day of my life." He cited the moment Ranganathan declared him a "Faithful" and their subsequent hug as a highlight.
Commenting on the episode, viewers described it as "excellent television" and praised the winners. Many noted that Ranganathan and Croft played an "excellent loyal game" and deserved their victory. There was also widespread approval for the winners donating their prize money to charities supporting refugees.
In the lead-up to the finale, Ranganathan had playfully referred to himself as a "national treasure" and hinted at knowing the show's outcome to an audience.
