Celebrity Traitors: Maya Jama and King Kenny Gain Advantage as Miranda Hart is Murdered
A pivotal challenge grants one contestant a double vote, leaving the remaining players in a precarious position.
The latest episode of Celebrity Traitors has left the competition on a knife edge, with the murder of contestant Miranda Hart and the introduction of a game-changing special power.
Original Traitor Maya Jama, recruit King Kenny, and James Acaster have continued their mission to eliminate the Faithfuls. Going into Friday's episode, the intention was clear: to prevent one of three remaining Faithfuls – Miranda Hart, Romesh Ranganathan, or Sebastian "Bash" Croft – from surviving until breakfast. The elimination of Miranda Hart, a keen detective on the show, narrowed the field to 10 players, intensifying the pressure on those remaining.
Hart, who had been actively investigating potential Traitors, particularly Joanne McNally, expressed frustration at her own misdirection. "I was wholly focusing on my Joanne issue," she stated, referencing a theory she had ultimately debunked at a previous roundtable. Despite her elimination, Hart reflected positively on her experience, calling it "extraordinary" to return to professional and personal activities, including enjoying nature and connecting with others, after past health challenges.
Maya Jama, embracing her role as a Traitor, admitted to feeling guilt over Hart's murder but maintained her commitment to the game. "With great honour comes great pressure, and here I am, 'OG traits', still flying it up," she commented in the diary room.
The Field of Screams Challenge
The remaining contestants faced a challenge in a location described as a "field of screams," filled with scarecrows. The task involved retrieving gold from within the scarecrows using pitchforks to add to the prize pot. Alongside the gold, a game-changing power was to be awarded to one player after they nominated three contestants whose proxy pumpkin scarecrow heads would be destroyed.
In a moment of perceived strategic error, the group, including Sharon, chose to preserve the heads of Maya, James Acaster, and King Kenny. Maya noted the irony, stating, "I had to hold in my laughter... Of all people, you saved us. I just thought, 'oh my gosh, have we completed this game already? We are trusting. We are unsuspecting. We are killing you all'."
The Double Dagger Power
The special power revealed was a "double dagger," granting its holder two votes at the upcoming roundtable. King Kenny was chosen as the keeper of this blade. James Blunt, who had been largely incorrect with his theories, remarked that the power felt to be in the "right hands," while Leigh-Anne Pinnock expressed bewilderment at the Traitors' continued success, stating, "We don't have a clue!"
During the roundtable discussion, attention turned to Michael Sheen and Sharon Osbourne. Romesh Ranganathan noted that if he were a Traitor, he would have eliminated Sheen by now, complimenting his positive impact on the group's morale. Sheen, in turn, attempted to deflect suspicion by highlighting Sharon's recent change in behavior.
Kenny, wielding the double dagger, ultimately cast his votes for Sharon. James Blunt also voted for Sharon, citing her "suspicious" reaction during the earlier task. With Sharon receiving four votes, alongside Joanne McNally, the decision went to a second round.
The episode concluded with Kenny preparing to cast his deciding vote using the double dagger, leaving the outcome of the elimination, and the fate of the remaining contestants, uncertain. With three Traitors and seven Faithfuls remaining, the game is poised for its final episodes.
