Celebrity Traitors contestants Maya Jama and King Kenny slip up on show

Fans of Celebrity Traitors expressed shock over two major slip-ups made by contestants Maya Jama and King Kenny during Thursday night's episode, which went unnoticed by the Faithfuls. Both Traitors appeared to reveal their identities through verbal gaffes.

During breakfast, following the banishment of Joanne McNally, Michael Sheen declared to the group, "I tell you what, whoever are the Traitors sitting at this table today is going to be a living hell for you. I am going to push and push and you are going to suffer. This is the apocalypse today!" Maya Jama responded with "That's what we need," before raising her glass with Romesh Ranganathan and others for "suffering." Maya then added, "To killing em," before quickly correcting herself to "Banishing them even." A fan shared the exchange on X, prompting Jama to reply, "By this point I was so tired the Traitor was dropping out of me." Another viewer noted, "Maya Jama cheersing “to killing”… and then a long pause “banishing” even and she still falls under the radar because nobody clocked it. These faithfuls."

King Kenny also made a significant gaffe during a roundtable discussion while accusing Michael Sheen. Kenny stated, "As a Traitors myself I would have got rid of you already, so that's my red flag on you." Viewers on X were stunned that this remark was not picked up by the other contestants.

One user wrote, "Kenny said he was a Traitor and nobody picked up on it?!!" Another questioned, "Kenny “AS A TRAITOR MYSELF” and NONE of them get it?" A third expressed disbelief: "Kenny just revealed there’s 3 traitors and said “as a traitor, myself” DID ANYONE ON THAT TABLE HEAR THAT IM SO NERVOUS."

However, the most significant twist of the episode came when Traitor James Acaster revealed his identity at the roundtable before any votes were cast. Fans on X described the moment as an "unprecedented twist in TV history."

"Nah James A just gave up on the game completely what am I watching," one user posted. Another commented, "JAMES JUST OUTING HIMSELF AS A TRAITOR AT THE ROUND TABLE." Producers anticipate this moment will be a major talking point of the year and potentially boost ratings for the show's finale.

James, who had previously come under fire alongside Maya Jama in relation to the staged murder of Ross Kemp, explained his situation to the group. He stated, "I was made a Traitor without wanting to be. I’ve had a unique experience on this that no one has had before, where I wanted to be a Faithful; that’s all I wanted to be. I couldn’t just go, 'Guys, it’s me, vote for me.' But that’s all I can do, really."

Filming was temporarily paused as Acaster became anxious. An insider told the Daily Mail that "the pressure got to him, and it was clear he was finding it difficult." The group agreed to stop filming before the situation escalated.

Acaster received all the votes and, before his exit, expressed pride in his efforts to help the Faithfuls, despite being a Traitor. "I am, reluctantly, a Traitor," he admitted, adding that a "weight has been lifted off his shoulders."
