Celebrity Race Across The World Trailer Released, Featuring Princess and Junior Andre

The first trailer for the upcoming series of Celebrity Race Across The World has been released, highlighting the challenges faced by its star-studded cast, including Princess and Junior Andre. This fourth season will feature pairs embarking on an extensive 7,500km (4,660 miles) journey, beginning in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, and concluding in Melbourne, Australia.

Joining Princess and Junior Andre are singer-songwriter Ella Eyre and her childhood friend Nana, veteran broadcaster Jeff Stelling with his son Matt, and musician Sam Ryder accompanied by his best friend and tour manager Kaz. The trailer offers a glimpse into the contestants' initial stages of the race, equipped with only a basic guide and a limited budget.

The preview indicates that Princess and Junior Andre experience strain during the competition, with footage showing Junior Andre appearing stressed on a bus. However, the pair also shares moments of enjoyment, seen leaping off a cliff into the water amidst the scenic Asian landscape.

The celebrities will be stripped of their phones, credit cards, and familiar comforts for what is described as the journey of a lifetime. The race commences in Kuching, located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak on the northwest of Borneo. From there, the teams will navigate through ancient jungles and the heartlands of Borneo, passing through five checkpoints across three countries and two continents before reaching the finish line in Melbourne.

The show's format requires contestants to rely on their resourcefulness, utilize local transportation, and depend on the kindness of strangers. Each participant will be given a budget of £26 per day.

Tim Harcourt, Chief Creative Officer at Studio Lambert, commented on the journey, stating that this year's pairs will navigate a route showcasing "two extremes of today's world." He added that the contestants offer "unfiltered and honest reactions" to their demanding yet joyful experiences, which he believes is a rare and appealing aspect for television audiences.

Jasmyn McGuile, Commissioning Editor for BBC Factual Entertainment and Events, expressed delight in bringing the race to Australia for the first time. She noted the adventurous start in Borneo's Sarawak rainforest as a unique element for the upcoming series.

Previous winners of Celebrity Race Across The World include Alex Beresford and Noel Beresford, Scott Mills and Sam Vaughan, and Roman Kemp and Harleymoon Kemp.

The new series is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, October 28. Race Across The World is set to return to BBC One and iPlayer in the spring.
