Celebrities Open Up About Vaping Struggles and Health Impacts

Selena Gomez recently revealed that her persistent vaping habit has negatively impacted her voice, admitting that nicotine is difficult to quit. The singer, 34, addressed online criticism of her altered vocal tone, stating, "I'm not gonna be able to change my voice. I vaped nicotine a lot and just so everyone knows that's somewhat vaped, nicotine is so hard to quit." She cautioned others against vaping, calling it "so stupid" and emphasizing that the habit is "not worth it."

Singer Lola Young, 25, shared similar concerns about the health consequences of vaping, describing her lungs as feeling like "battery powered." She confessed that breathing has become a "chore" due to her addiction, which she currently has no plans to quit until she turns 45.

The experiences of Gomez and Young highlight a growing trend among public figures discussing the adverse effects of vaping. Actress Lily James noted that her vaping habit has impacted her dental health, leading to fillings she attributed to the flavored vapes containing sugar, which dentists warn can erode tooth enamel.

Simon Cowell, who transitioned from smoking 80 cigarettes a day to vaping, explained his decision as an effort to reduce his nicotine intake. He found vaping successful in curbing his cigarette habit, though he acknowledged he has not entirely quit vaping.

Other celebrities have also voiced their struggles with vaping. Lily Allen admitted to using vaping as a "coping mechanism and a crutch" following a difficult personal period, though she is now attempting to quit. Doja Cat has repeatedly vowed to stop vaping, even after undergoing surgery for a tonsil abscess linked to her habit, but has been observed vaping subsequently.

Natasha Lyonne has been open about her long-standing battle with quitting both cigarettes and vapes, noting her concern over the high quantity of vaping she engaged in. Vicky Pattison described vaping as a "training essential" during her time on Strictly Come Dancing, admitting she used it for relaxation despite feeling ashamed.

Katie Price has expressed her determination to quit vaping after a recent health scare and learning about its link to irreversible lung disease, further motivated by her mother's diagnosis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Barry Manilow, who previously smoked heavily for decades, switched to vaping as a means to quit cigarettes. He stated that while vaping may not work for everyone, it has been effective for him and his band.

Dani Dyer has also spoken about her efforts to quit vaping, calling it highly addictive and expressing uncertainty about the long-term dangers of inhaling flavored substances daily.
