Celebrities Make Notable Appearances Across New York
Chef Daniel Boulud surprised audiences at the Met Opera, while Machine Gun Kelly launched a new coffee event at the New York City Wine & Food Festival.
Chef Daniel Boulud made an unexpected appearance at the Metropolitan Opera's production of “La Bohème” last Friday, performing a cameo role. Boulud, whose new restaurant Brasserie Boulud is located across the street from the opera house, appeared on stage during Act II.
The scene depicted the bustling Café Momus in Paris's Latin Quarter, featuring a lively restaurant atmosphere with diners, waiters, and street vendors. The appearance occurred shortly after Brasserie Boulud opened, and has since seen numerous celebrity patrons, including Fran Drescher, Andrew McCarthy, Al Roker, Deborah Roberts, and Yo-Yo Ma. Other culinary figures like Alain Ducasse, Eric Ripert, and Jean-Georges Vongerichten have also visited the restaurant.
Machine Gun Kelly was also in the spotlight, participating in the New York City Wine & Food Festival's first alcohol-free event, Coffee Culture. He joined actor Anthony Anderson and festival founder Lee Brian Schrager on stage to discuss his entrepreneurial ventures. MGK spoke about his coffee shop, 27 Club Coffee, which has locations in Cleveland and Miami and is planning to open in Brooklyn. A source shared that MGK expressed his ambition to "grow as an entrepreneur and create a positive experience for guests."
When asked by Anderson about his entry into the restaurant business, Machine Gun Kelly reportedly responded humorously, stating he "stopped doing cocaine and looked for a better high." His rumored girlfriend, Dakota Johnson, was not in attendance at this event.
Earlier in the week, Sylvester Stallone participated in NYCWFF's Trade Day, engaging in a Q&A with his wife, Jennifer Flavin. Stallone discussed his vodka brand, Carbonadi, and drew parallels between promoting liquor and promoting movies, emphasizing the need for personal engagement.
Meanwhile, actor Bryan Cranston was seen pouring Dos Hombres mezcal for attendees at the festival, interacting with fans and posing for photographs.
