Cause of Death Revealed for NBC Helicopter Pilot in Fatal Crash

The official cause of death for George Marciniw, the pilot of an NBC news helicopter that crashed in Chatsworth, California, has been determined. Marciniw, 70, died from blunt force trauma, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
The incident occurred on September 15, as the helicopter crew was covering a collision between an LA Metro bus and an SUV. The aircraft fell from the sky near a Chatsworth warehouse.
Passenger Eliana Moreno also died from blunt force trauma, with her cause of death also including thermal injuries and inhalation of combustion products. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are investigating the crash.
