Catherine Zeta-Jones Responds to Michael Douglas's Tell-All Memoir

Catherine Zeta-Jones has broken her silence on her husband Michael Douglas's recently released memoir, joking that she has not read it. The actress appeared on the "Today" show, stating, "As much as I love my husband, when I'm tired at night, I have no intention of reading about him at all."

The memoir, titled "One Helluva Ride," details Douglas's romantic relationships, including affairs with co-stars Kathleen Turner and Jeanne Tripplehorn, which occurred during his first marriage to model Diandra Luker. It also delves into his courtship of Zeta-Jones, revealing she made him wait nine months before they became intimate.

Zeta-Jones, 57, acknowledged her busy schedule, which includes filming for "Wednesday" and her new series "Kill Jackie." She encouraged others to read the memoir, humorously advising them to "hold onto their cowboy hats."

According to "Today" show host Willie Geist, Douglas mentioned that Zeta-Jones "didn't seem upset" after he cautiously inquired about her reaction to the book's release. Zeta-Jones quipped, "He got me at a good time."

Douglas recounted meeting Zeta-Jones in 1998 at the Deauville American Film Festival. He wrote that Zeta-Jones, then 28, was intrigued by his reputation but made him wait before they slept together. To offset his image as a lothario, Douglas invited a stable couple to join them during their initial time together at his Mallorca home.

Douglas wrote in his memoir that he met Zeta-Jones at the Deauville American Film Festival in France in 1998, where they are pictured in a photo he shared to Instagram

Douglas and Zeta-Jones welcomed their son Dylan in 2000 and married later that year. Their daughter Carys was born in 2003. The couple navigated difficult periods, including Douglas's battle with throat cancer and Zeta-Jones's diagnosis of bipolar II disorder. They briefly separated in 2013 but reconciled later that year.

The memoir also details Douglas's marriage to his first wife, Diandra Luker, from 1977 to 1995, which he described as tumultuous with frequent infidelity. He confessed to an affair with Jeanne Tripplehorn during the filming of "Basic Instinct," admitting he was close to leaving Luker for Tripplehorn.

His affairs with Tripplehorn and Turner unfolded during his marriage to his first wife, model Diandra Luker, whom he is pictured with in 1993

Douglas also confirmed an affair with Kathleen Turner during the production of "Romancing the Stone" in 1984, which occurred while he was married to Luker and Turner was dating her future husband. Turner has since commented on the revelations, stating, "Good heavens, what a fuss about something 40 years ago! I love Michael and I look forward to enjoying the book."

One Helluva Ride also saw Douglas finally confess that he and Kathleen Turner conducted an affair during the making of their 1984 classic Romancing the Stone.
