Catherine Zeta-Jones Channels 'Basic Instinct' Amid Husband Michael Douglas's Memoir Revelations
The actress made a striking pose at New York Comic Con, drawing parallels to a famous scene from the film her husband starred in, as he promotes his autobiography detailing past relationships.
Catherine Zeta-Jones struck a provocative pose at New York Comic Con, reminiscent of a scene from the film Basic Instinct, as her husband Michael Douglas's memoir detailing his past relationships is released.
Zeta-Jones, 57, appeared on stage in a gold sequined dress that revealed a significant portion of her thigh, a move that drew comparisons to Sharon Stone's iconic leg-crossing scene in the 1992 film, in which Douglas played a detective.
"Flashing a whole bunch of leg," Zeta-Jones later posted on Instagram, referencing the moment. She was in New York to promote her upcoming Amazon Prime Video thriller series, Kill Jackie. She jokingly attributed her dress choice to an "homage to C–3PO," the golden robot from Star Wars.
The actress's public appearance comes as Douglas, 82, promotes his autobiography, "One Helluva Ride," which includes candid accounts of his sexual history. In the book, Douglas details a past affair with his Romancing the Stone co-star Kathleen Turner and a fling with Basic Instinct co-star Jeanne Tripplehorn, who was nearly two decades his junior.
Douglas also wrote about his relationship with his first wife, film producer Diandra Luker, and recounted instances of infidelity. When he began dating Zeta-Jones in 1998, he stated he had to end relationships with five other women. Douglas and Zeta-Jones married in November 2000.
