Catherine Bach, best known for her portrayal of Daisy Duke in the hit CBS series "The Dukes of Hazzard," made a rare public appearance in West Hollywood this week. The 72-year-old actress was seen running errands in the neighborhood on Monday.
Bach, an 80s icon for her role in the show that aired for seven seasons, kept her attire casual, wearing a black shirt, black leggings, and a black cardigan. She paired the outfit with white sneakers and carried a black Chanel purse. Her hair was styled with a middle part, falling in waves past her shoulders.
"The Dukes of Hazzard" followed the adventures of the Duke cousins in Hazzard County. Bach's iconic Daisy Duke shorts were a creation she championed, reportedly suggesting them when show creators initially proposed a poodle skirt that matched a tablecloth.
Bach began her professional acting career in the mid-1970s. Her first film credit was in "The Midnight Man" (1974), followed by an appearance in "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" (1974) alongside Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges. Throughout the decade, she also appeared in films such as "Hustle" (1975) and "Woman In The Rain" (1976).
After "The Dukes of Hazzard" concluded in 1985, Bach continued her acting career with roles in television shows including "The Love Boat," "African Skies," and "Monk." From 2012 to 2019, she played Anita Lawson in the soap opera "The Young and the Restless." Her most recent acting credit is the 2024 film "Holy Cash."
Bach was married to entertainment lawyer Peter Lopez from 1990 until his death in 2010. The couple had two children. Lopez died by suicide at the age of 60. Bach was previously married to David Shaw from 1976 to 1981.
In October of the previous year, Bach experienced a health scare when she was hospitalized for an embolism.
