A family was left in disbelief when their two-year-old tabby cat, Wilbur, returned home sporting a vibrant shade of cyan. The unexpected transformation occurred after Wilbur apparently gatecrashed a neighbor's baby gender reveal party.
Sophie Jenkin, Wilbur's owner, initially expressed concern, fearing that local children might have been involved in animal mistreatment by throwing paint. Her worries, however, were alleviated when she posted a picture of the blue cat on social media and a neighbor identified the cause.
It was revealed that a neighbor, Hollie Jenkinson, had organized a gender reveal in her garden where children used footballs filled with blue cornstarch to announce the baby's sex. It is believed Wilbur rolled around in the residual cornstarch.
Jenkin recounted her initial shock and subsequent amusement, noting that even her cat's gender added to the humor, as Wilbur is a female cat. She also mentioned that she washed Wilbur after reading that the dye could be toxic, but was reassured by Jenkinson that it was only cornstarch.
Jenkinson also found the situation humorous, stating that the incident made the gender reveal more memorable. She expressed relief that Jenkin saw the funny side of the event. After multiple baths, Wilbur has since returned to her natural tabby coloring.
