Cat Razzell, whose mother Linda was murdered by her father Glyn Razzell, has publicly opposed her father's potential release from prison. Glyn Razzell is currently held in an open prison and recently had his release approved by the Parole Board.

During a recent hearing, prosecutor Tristan Jones KC noted Razzell's compliance with prison conditions and engagement in psychological sessions. However, Jones also characterized Razzell as a "deeply deceitful individual" responsible for a "campaign of violence" against Linda. Evidence presented in court included a domestic abuse report filed by Linda before her death, in which she expressed fear that Razzell would kill her.

Months prior to Linda's murder, Razzell was acquitted of two counts of domestic abuse. Despite this acquittal, a 2023 Parole Board hearing concluded, on the balance of probabilities, that he had been abusive. When the Parole Board approved Razzell's release in April, they stated that "the panel was satisfied that imprisonment was no longer necessary for the protection of the public."

The High Court has concluded its hearing and will issue its decision in the coming weeks. Cat Razzell, who was 13 when her mother disappeared, has emphasized that her father should remain incarcerated until her mother's body is located.
