Cat Leaps From Moving Car's Sunroof on Seattle Highway
A feline escaped through an open sunroof while its owner was driving on Maple Valley Highway, an incident captured on dashcam.
A black cat startled its owner by jumping through the open sunroof of a moving car on Washington’s Maple Valley Highway on September 16. Elisa Camacho was driving to a Starbucks for her cat's first 'pup cup' when the incident occurred.
Camacho, who was looking at her phone to load navigation, was traveling at approximately 50 mph when the cat unexpectedly leaped from the vehicle. She told Storyful that she had unbuckled the cat for the trip and that everything happened so rapidly, she initially struggled to believe her pet had actually exited the car. She initially thought the cat had merely moved to the back seat.
After realizing her cat was no longer inside, Camacho quickly pulled over and successfully retrieved the feline.
The dashcam footage of the event was shared on TikTok, where it garnered millions of views and likes. The video sparked a range of reactions online, with some viewers expressing amusement and others criticizing the owner's actions as negligent and dangerous to the animal. Many comments emphasized the importance of safely securing pets in carriers when traveling.
