Cat Deeley Gets Emotional Discussing Suicide Prevention on "This Morning"

Cat Deeley, co-host of the British television program "This Morning," became visibly emotional and fought back tears during a segment on Wednesday focused on suicide prevention. The segment featured interviews with two mothers, Gemma and Sarah, who shared their experiences of losing their teenage children, Honey Cook and Jack Allcott, respectively, to suicide.

Honey Cook was 15 years old when she died by suicide in 2021, and Jack Allcott, also 15, died by suicide last year. The mothers appeared on the show as part of "This Morning's" Know The Signs Anti-bullying Campaign. As they recounted their stories, Deeley, a mother of two herself, appeared overwhelmed and struggled to continue speaking.

Gemma has since established a charity named Bee Kind for Honey, which provides mental health and grief boxes for young people in an effort to prevent suicide.

While reading a call-to-action for viewers, Deeley's voice began to break. "A reminder that you can find more information on our know the signs campaign by scanning the QR code…" she said before her voice faltered.

This is not the first time Deeley has been overcome with emotion on "This Morning." Previously, she struggled to control her emotions while speaking with Tiana Krasniqi, whose husband, James Broadnax, convicted of double murder, died by lethal injection. Krasniqi described the harrowing experience of witnessing her husband's execution.
