Carrot Top to Return to Las Vegas Stage Following Suicide Attempt and Hospitalization

Comedian Carrot Top is set to resume his Las Vegas residency at the Luxor Hotel and Casino on October 19, marking his return to the stage after a hospitalization for a suicide attempt in September.

Thompson, 61, was hospitalized on September 18 following a suicide attempt at his Las Vegas home. A police report indicated he was found unconscious near his backyard pool. His manager had requested a welfare check after speaking with Thompson, who reportedly expressed concerns about an upcoming article detailing sexual misconduct allegations. According to the report, Thompson texted "done" shortly after the call.

He remained hospitalized until approximately September 26, when he was released to recover at home. Thompson was publicly seen for the first time since his hospitalization on October 4, attending church services in Las Vegas. He was also seen attending services with his mother, Dona Wood, the following Sunday.

Thompson's residency at the Luxor began in 2005. His return to the stage follows a period of significant personal distress, which also included a legal dispute with his former opening act, Brian Evans. Court documents alleged Evans threatened to release a sexually explicit video of Thompson if he did not receive a $500,000 settlement. Evans denied these allegations, stating he never threatened to post any video and expressed regret for Thompson's apparent self-harm.
