Carrot Top's Las Vegas Shows Canceled Amid Hospitalization After Alleged Suicide Attempt

Carrot Top's upcoming performances at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas have been canceled as he remains hospitalized following an alleged suicide attempt. The comedian's shows scheduled for Monday and Tuesday are affected, with the next available performance listed as September 23.

His Friday and Saturday shows were also previously called off. Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, has had a long-standing residency in Las Vegas since 2005. The 61-year-old performer is reportedly awake and breathing on his own, according to a statement from his representative, Jami Schlicher, to Page Six.

"Scott remains hospitalized and under close medical care," Schlicher stated. "He is now awake, breathing on his own and continuing to improve, surrounded by his family and those closest to him."

Thompson was allegedly extorted over a sex tape prior to the reported suicide attempt, according to court documents obtained by Page Six. His attorney claimed in a filing that musician Brian Evans threatened to leak a video of Thompson if he was not paid $500,000. Evans denied threatening to release the video for a settlement, stating it was intended to be confidential and that the video had been deleted in accordance with a prior agreement.

Thompson was transported to a local hospital after the alleged suicide attempt on Friday. Authorities were observed surrounding his Las Vegas home on the same day. His representative noted that Thompson is sharing "moments of humor with the medical staff caring for him."
