Carrot Top Appears at Church Service Following Hospitalization
The comedian was seen attending a service in Las Vegas after his release from the hospital following a suicide attempt.
Carrot Top, born Scott Christopher Thompson, was photographed attending a church service in Las Vegas, marking his first public appearance since being released from the hospital after a suicide attempt. The comedian was seen leaving St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church on Sunday, according to reports.
Thompson, 61, was seen dressed in a blue collared shirt and jeans, smiling as he walked with the congregation. This outing follows his release from the hospital around September 26, after he was found unconscious at his Las Vegas home on September 18. At the time of his discovery, he was in critical condition.
According to a police report, Thompson's manager requested a welfare check after speaking with the comedian, who had expressed concerns about an upcoming article detailing sexual misconduct allegations. Following the phone call, Thompson reportedly texted his manager the word "done," prompting the manager to contact authorities.
The comedian's suicide attempt occurred during an ongoing legal dispute with his former opener, Brian Evans. Evans allegedly threatened to release a sexually explicit video of Thompson if he was not paid $500,000, though Evans has denied threatening to release the video in exchange for a settlement.
Thompson's attorney also sought protective relief in the legal proceedings after the suicide attempt. The comedian has been on hiatus from his long-running show at the Luxor Hotel and Casino, where he has performed since 2005. It remains unclear when he will return to the stage.
