Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little End Radio Partnership Amidst Rumors
Body language expert analyzes co-hosts' farewell, highlighting contrasting perspectives on their show's conclusion and Bickmore's reported move to KIIS FM.
Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little are concluding their nearly decade-long partnership on the "Carrie & Tommy" radio show, a decision that has been met with differing emotional responses from the hosts, according to a body language specialist. The popular drivetime program, which ranks as the third most-listened-to network radio program in Australia, is expected to cease broadcasting by the end of the year.
Sources indicate that Bickmore is set to join rival station KIIS FM, where she would replace the "Will & Woody" drivetime show hosts. During their on-air announcement, Bickmore reportedly maintained consistent eye contact with Little, frequently using inclusive language such as "us" and "our lives." Behavioral specialist Scott Taylor interpreted these actions as indicative of a strong connection and a shared emotional experience of ending a significant chapter together, noting her "powerful honesty and vulnerability."
In contrast, Taylor observed that Little's commentary appeared to have a more personal focus. He openly expressed his disappointment and frustration at being "left behind" as Bickmore transitions to a new role. While speculation about a romantic relationship between the pair has persisted, Taylor cautioned that the public display did not offer definitive evidence beyond a close and trusting friendship.
Bickmore expressed her deep affection for their time together, stating, "I've loved every minute of doing the show. It's not every day you get to come and have a laugh and call it your job with your best mate and the funniest guy in the country, and that's what we've got to do for the last decade."
Little echoed sentiments of sadness, remarking, "It's certainly not how I wanted it to end. I love this job, and I would have kept doing it for a long time. But I don't always get my way, and I feel very grateful. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity. I think we've had an amazing job to do."
Reports suggest that Bickmore's potential departure from SCA follows the company's merger with Seven West Media. Despite her popularity with both advertisers and listeners, SCA is reportedly amenable to her move to KIIS drive, with sources suggesting a cooling of relations and "no love lost there."
Little's future remains uncertain, with rumors of a potential bidding war between KIIS and the Hit Network. If he remains with SCA, discussions suggest he could be paired with Loren Barry. An SCA representative declined to comment on record, advising that lineup speculation is common at this time of year.
The "Carrie & Tommy" show has been a consistent presence since 2017, cultivating a national audience on the Hit Network. The presenters have long maintained they are close friends, despite frequent listener speculation fueled by their on-air chemistry, shared holidays, and affectionate social media interactions. Bickmore's previous long-term partner was Chris Walker, with whom she announced a separation in 2023, stating a focus on co-parenting their children. Little was last publicly linked to environmental activist Natalie Kyriacou in 2021.
