Carrick Addresses JJ Gabriel's Manchester United Exit Request

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has addressed the situation surrounding 15-year-old prospect JJ Gabriel's formal request to leave the club. The news, which emerged on Tuesday, reportedly left Manchester United's academy staff stunned, as Gabriel was considered a highly talented young player.

Plans for Gabriel to potentially make his debut during Manchester United's Carabao Cup third-round match against Brighton were rescinded following the announcement of his desire to depart. Speaking after the team's loss to Brighton, Carrick emphasized the need for caution and sensitivity when discussing the matter.

"We have to be a little bit careful on that one," Carrick told Sky Sports. "He's a 15-year-old boy. It's more about the welfare, the care and the attention of JJ as a child really. He's certainly a young man.

"The situation is what it is, but we have to be careful about the exposure and how much we jump on that."
