Carol Vorderman, 65, Credits Youthful Appearance to Botox, Fitness, and Unconventional Love Life
The television personality revealed her secrets to maintaining a youthful look, attributing it to cosmetic procedures, a rigorous fitness regimen, and a unique approach to relationships.
Carol Vorderman, 65, has captivated audiences with her consistently youthful appearance, attributing her ageless look to a combination of cosmetic enhancements, a dedicated fitness routine, and an unconventional approach to relationships.
Vorderman recently debuted a glamorous makeover at the Pride Of Britain Awards, sporting a darker hairdo, enhanced teeth, and a form-fitting glitter gown that highlighted her hourglass figure. Her refreshed appearance led fans to comment that she appears to be 'ageing in reverse.'
Cosmetic Procedures
Vorderman has been open about her use of cosmetic treatments, including Botox and fillers, to maintain her appearance. She has also expressed a future intention to undergo a facelift, stating her belief that individuals should spend their money on what makes them happy.
"It's my money, I've earned it, so I'll spend it on what I like," Vorderman told the Daily Mail. "I am accepting of myself, but I also want to look good, and those two things can go together."
She has previously defended her use of such treatments, telling The Sunday Times Magazine in 2024, "Everyone on telly has Botox. I look the way I do because it makes me happy."
Vorderman also addressed criticism regarding her cosmetic choices, asserting a "no f***s given" attitude towards aging and commentary on her appearance. She finds inspiration in David Bowie's quote about aging: "You become the person you always should have been." For Vorderman, her sixties represent the age she feels she always should have been.
Diet and Fitness Regimen
Beyond cosmetic procedures, Vorderman maintains her physique through a stringent diet and fitness regimen. She has shared her workout routines, which include exercises like press-ups, hip thrusts, and resistance band work, both at home and in the gym. She credits a personal trainer, described as a Welsh rugby captain, for pushing her with weights.
In 2022, Vorderman underwent a body transformation at a retreat in Portugal, where guests primarily consume juices, smoothies, and warm soups. During her 18-day stay, she subsisted on juice for 15 days. She reported losing over a dress size and experiencing increased energy following the program.
Vorderman also incorporates intermittent fasting into her health management, a dietary approach that involves extended periods between meals. Research suggests intermittent fasting can aid in weight management and improve overall health. Additionally, she practices yoga to enhance flexibility, core strength, and balance.
Unconventional Relationships
Vorderman has spoken candidly about her romantic life, describing herself as single and maintaining casual relationships with multiple "special friends" rather than a traditional partnership. She has joked about the number of her companions, noting a recent reduction to three.
"It's down to three. Times are hard," she quipped on Alan Carr's podcast, 'Life's A Beach.' She clarified that these relationships are long-term and not to be confused with fleeting holiday romances.
Vorderman has been publicly single since her split from journalist Des Kelly in 2007, following two previous marriages. She has expressed no current desire to settle down with a single partner, humorously suggesting such a plan might occur when she is 82.
She has also challenged societal expectations for women, stating, "There's this idea that women need a man to travel, to live, to enjoy themselves - you really, really don't. That's not anti-men - it's pro-women, there's a whole world out there and women are reaching for it."
