Carnival Panorama Passenger Jumps Overboard Off Mexico Coast

A passenger aboard the Carnival Panorama cruise ship jumped overboard on Saturday as the vessel was en route from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to Long Beach, California. The incident occurred on the final full day of a week-long sailing.
Carnival Cruise Line confirmed the event, stating that the ship's crew immediately initiated search and investigation procedures upon being notified of the missing guest. These procedures included reviewing CCTV footage and alerting both the U.S. and Mexico Coast Guards.
According to a passenger who spoke to Fox News Digital, announcements regarding a missing guest were made around 11 a.m. on Saturday. The ship had departed Puerto Vallarta, its last port of call, at 8 p.m. on Thursday. Over the next several hours, multiple announcements were made, and at approximately 3 p.m., the ship reportedly turned around.
Further announcements indicated a shipwide search was underway, with guests instructed to return to their staterooms. Security personnel scanned guests' ship identification cards, a standard protocol during searches.
Around 5 p.m., the captain and cruise director confirmed the guest had gone overboard after reviewing onboard camera footage. They stated that local authorities would continue the search and rescue operation. Guests were then informed that the ship was expected to arrive in Long Beach at 9 a.m.
Carnival Cruise Line stated that it is providing support to the family traveling with the missing guest. "Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their loved ones," a spokesperson for the cruise line said.
