Carlson's Former Writer Accuses Him of Ignoring Conspiracy Theories

Blake Neff, former lead writer for Tucker Carlson's Fox News show and now co-host of The Charlie Kirk Show, has accused his former boss of refusing to intervene when conspiracy theories about Charlie Kirk's murder began to circulate, including a "black magic ritual" narrative promoted by Carlson's brother.

Neff, who owes his career to Carlson, stated in an interview with Jeremy Boreing that Carlson has increasingly indulged negative traits, leading to a significant shift in his public persona since 2018. Neff recounted his last communication with Carlson, during which he privately asked him to request that his brother, Buckley Carlson, stop promoting "stuff" related to Kirk's death. According to Neff, Tucker Carlson refused.

"I don't think Tucker in 2018 would have had that response to someone he has a close relationship with spreading incredibly hateful lies about innocent people," Neff said. He added that Carlson now seems to uncritically accept negative smears against perceived opponents, suggesting Carlson believes anything negative, drawing parallels to theories about the JFK assassination and the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

Neff believes Carlson's intense opposition to a potential war with Iran, which he felt powerless to prevent, has fueled his anger and grievances. This grievance, Neff posits, has led Carlson to allow people to spread falsehoods about organizations like Turning Point USA, causing significant damage to individuals.

Neff, who was present and approximately 20 feet away when Kirk was reportedly assassinated on the campus of Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, expressed pain in criticizing Carlson, acknowledging Carlson as a benefactor who plucked him from The Daily Caller to help write his Fox News monologues in 2016. Neff resigned from Fox News in 2022 following the resurfacing of blog posts that critics deemed racist, which Neff described as jokes taken out of context.
