Carey Mulligan Shines at London Film Festival Premiere
The acclaimed actress opted for a striking white satin gown for the premiere of "Wildwood," while also recently contributing to a significant charity event.
Carey Mulligan cut a chic figure on the red carpet at the London Film Festival premiere of "Wildwood" on Sunday. The actress arrived in a sophisticated white satin gown featuring long sleeves and a ribbed texture, complemented by a short flared train.
Mulligan, 41, accessorized her look with stylish sunglasses, her blonde hair styled in curls, and dazzling gold drop earrings. She completed the ensemble with towering heels and took a moment to sign autographs for fans.
She reunited with "Wildwood" director Travis Knight, 53, who was attired in a sharp grey double-breasted suit. The film's premiere took place at the Royal Festival Hall.
This appearance comes shortly after Mulligan and her husband, Marcus Mumford, successfully hosted their annual benefit for the Children In Conflict charity, raising over £5.78 million. The event, held at Los Angeles' El Rey Theatre, exceeded previous fundraising amounts.
"This is more money than we have ever raised before," Mulligan announced at the event. Mumford added, "This money will help us bring support to over one million children in war zones. We are so grateful to the L.A. community."
Children In Conflict is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting, educating, and providing mental health support to children in war-torn and high-conflict regions globally. The benefit featured a host of notable guests, including Emma Watson, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Courteney Cox, Kristen Bell, and Dax Shepard, with performances by Mumford & Sons, Brandi Carlile, and others.
This marked the couple's first Children in Conflict event in Los Angeles, having previously organized similar events in London and New York. Rob Williams, CEO of Children in Conflict, expressed his delight at the support from the Los Angeles community and indicated plans for more events in the city next year.
Earlier this summer, Mulligan was honored with a CBE by King Charles at Windsor Castle for her contributions to drama. She was joined by her husband, Mumford, whom she married in 2012. The couple has three children.
