Cardiff City Player Banned and Fined for Fan Altercation
Krystian Bielik receives a two-match suspension and a £10,000 penalty after admitting to misconduct during a Championship match.

Cardiff City player Krystian Bielik has been handed a two-match ban and a £10,000 fine after admitting to misconduct during a Championship match against Portsmouth on September 5. The incident occurred in the 71st minute at Fratton Park, with Bielik, a former Arsenal youth player, attempting to retrieve the ball from the stands. Footage showed a young fan throwing the ball away from the midfielder, prompting Bielik to reach out towards the fan's throat and push them.
Following the altercation, the fan involved was ejected from the stadium. Hampshire police investigated the incident but concluded that no further action was necessary. The Football Association (FA) charged Bielik with acting in an improper manner, which he admitted.
An independent Regulatory Commission imposed the sanctions after a hearing. Bielik is understood to have apologized for his actions. He will now miss Cardiff City's upcoming Championship matches against Blackburn and Watford. This is Bielik's fourth appearance for Cardiff since joining the club from West Brom in the summer.
Cardiff manager Bryan Barry-Murphy stated after the match that Bielik claimed to have been "slapped in the face" by the fan. Barry-Murphy also commended the referee and his staff for their handling of the situation, emphasizing the need to protect players from unacceptable behavior. Portsmouth manager John Mousinho expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the circumstances surrounding the incident.
