The Carabao Cup second-round draw has set up a home tie for Chelsea against League One outfit Luton Town, as the club begins its quest to win the competition for the first time since 2015 under new manager Xabi Alonso.

Eleven Premier League clubs entered the competition at this stage, with teams involved in European competition receiving a bye to the third round.

Tottenham Hotspur, who secured their Premier League status on the final day of the previous season, have also been drawn at home and are set to face Championship side Charlton Athletic. Fulham will host AFC Wimbledon, a fellow League One club.

Other notable ties include Brentford's away match against Birmingham City and Ipswich Town's home fixture against Leicester City. West Ham United, following their first-round victory over Portsmouth, will travel to Southampton.

In the northern section, Nottingham Forest, a semi-finalist in last season's Europa League, will host Leeds United. Newly promoted Hull City faces an away game against Stoke City. Newcastle's new head coach Matthias Jaissle will lead his team at home against West Bromwich Albion. Everton manager David Moyes is scheduled for a return to Preston North End, where he previously played and managed.

The second-round matches are scheduled to take place during the week commencing August 26.
