Cara Delevingne has confirmed she was romantically involved with Amber Heard during Heard's high-profile divorce proceedings from Johnny Depp in 2016. Delevingne stated in an appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast that she and Heard became "entangled" during that period.

Delevingne described Depp as being "driven crazy by jealousy." She noted that while she and Heard were close friends and seen together previously, their relationship developed later. "Nothing was happening at that point," Delevingne said, referring to the time they filmed "London Fields" together, which also featured Depp. "Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose."

Amber Heard filed for divorce and a restraining order against Johnny Depp in May 2016, alleging abuse. Depp subsequently filed a defamation lawsuit against Heard in 2019 over her December 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post. Following a six-week trial, Depp was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages.

Delevingne also commented on Heard's other relationships, noting that Heard "was also entangled with other people," including Elon Musk.

Following the legal battles, Heard relocated to Madrid with her daughter. A source told People magazine that Heard wanted to "start fresh" and now has "new energy and is focused on things that she loves." Heard welcomed twins in May of the following year.

Delevingne recently described herself as a "proud lesbian" and has been in a four-year relationship with musician Minke. Reflecting on her sexuality and past relationships, Delevingne told Louis Theroux that her current relationship feels like the first time she has been truly in love, attributing this to removing substances and prioritizing her relationship above work. She expressed a desire to have children in the future, viewing it as a way to heal parts of herself that struggle with empathy for her own past experiences.
