Police are investigating after a car crashed into a home on Low Borland Way in Eaglesham, East Renfrewshire, on Friday afternoon. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 1:20 p.m. after receiving reports of the incident.
A significant police presence was observed on the street, which was cordoned off. By Saturday, the property was secured with temporary fencing. The crash occurred at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac.
Initial reports indicate that the brick wall of the property was damaged near the front door, and smoke marks were visible on the upper floor. A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated that there were no reports of any injuries and that inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
Police Scotland has not ruled out potential links between the crash and "Operation Portaledge," an ongoing investigation into gangland activity across central Scotland. The incident in Eaglesham follows reports of an increase in gangland violence in Glasgow earlier in the week.
