Candace Cameron Bure, Oliver Hudson, and former U.S. Representative George Santos are among the 15 celebrities who will test their physical and mental fortitude in the upcoming fifth season of Fox's "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test." The new season, which premieres Thursday, Sept. 24, at 9 p.m. ET, will see recruits endure harsh conditions in the jungles of Malaysia.
The series challenges participants to survive grueling military-style training exercises led by former special forces operatives. This season's recruits will navigate the "most hostile environment a soldier could operate in," according to Fox, facing tasks such as searching underground bunkers, retrieving supplies suspended hundreds of feet in the air, and participating in chemical gassing exercises.
Joining Cameron Bure, Hudson, and Santos in the jungle are Matt Barnes, Alycia Baumgardner, Brandi Glanville, Collin Gosselin, LeSean McCoy, Maxim Naumov, Ruby Rose, Hannah Stocking, Bre Tiesi, Alexia Umansky, and Mauricio Umansky.
The "Special Forces" directing staff, including former operatives Rudy Reyes, Billy Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox, and Jovon “Q” Quarles, will guide the celebrity recruits through the demanding program. The show's promotional material emphasizes that in this environment, "Fame means nothing in the jungle."
The season will feature cast members trading their usual celebrity environments for the extreme challenges of jungle warfare training. Among the participants is Brandi Glanville, known for her role on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
