A Canadian national who assaulted a teenager wearing pro-Trump attire on a New Jersey boardwalk has been ordered deported from the United States. Kaitlyn Tracey, 33, pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of simple assault, a misdemeanor, as part of a plea agreement. She was sentenced to one day in jail, with time served credited for her prior detention.

Tracey was arrested by the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department on July 3 after confronting a group of teenagers. Video evidence showed her slapping one of the teens, who was wearing a USA-themed tank top. Authorities stated Tracey was in the U.S. illegally, having overstayed her visa at the time of the incident.

Following her plea, Tracey was deported to Canada. She had been held in a Texas ICE facility prior to her deportation and plea. Additionally, an online fundraiser established to cover Tracey's legal expenses in her immigration case raised $4,857 towards its $10,000 goal. A previous crowdfunding attempt by her husband was removed by the platform for violating policies against fundraising for individuals accused of violent crimes.
