A Canadian woman accused of assaulting a teenager over clothing displaying "Trump" and "ICE" has been ordered deported from the United States. An immigration judge in Texas issued the order for Kaitlyn Tracey to return to Canada on Tuesday.

Tracey allegedly approached a group of teenagers on the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk in New Jersey during the Fourth of July weekend. According to the Department of Homeland Security, she struck one of the teens after taking issue with her sweatpants that read "Trump" and "ICE."

Surveillance footage shared by DHS appears to show Tracey hitting the teen twice with an open hand, once in the face and once in the body, before leaving the scene, investigators stated. Police responded to an assault report and subsequently arrested Tracey.

She was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment, and obstruction. According to a probable cause affidavit, Tracey began yelling at the teen about her "patriotic colored sweatpants with political wording."

DHS confirmed that Tracey entered the U.S. on a visa in April 2024 and overstayed her permit, which expired on September 6, 2024. "She received full due process and was ordered removed on Aug. 4 by an immigration judge to her home country of Canada. ICE will return her home as soon as possible," a DHS spokesperson said.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Tracey failed to depart the U.S. after her visa expired. She was detained by ICE and faced immigration proceedings in Texas. The DHS spokesperson added, "Our message is clear: if you come into our country illegally and break our laws, we will find you, we will arrest you, and we will deport you."
