A Canadian woman residing in New Jersey has been arrested and charged after allegedly assaulting a teenager who was wearing clothing featuring "Trump" and "ICE" slogans. The incident occurred on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach on Friday, July 3, the start of the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Kaitlyn E. Tracey, 33, is accused by police of approaching the group of teens while recording them on her phone. According to a report from NJ.com, Tracey allegedly "slapped the victim across her face and body." Surveillance video reportedly captured the act, showing the juvenile female being struck once to the body and once to the face with an open hand. Tracey then fled the scene.
Following an investigation, Point Pleasant Beach Police arrested Tracey days later. She faces charges of endangering the welfare of a child, simple assault, harassment, and obstruction. Tracey, a Canadian citizen, entered the U.S. in 2024 with a passport.
In an unrelated social media post dated July 13, a man identified as Tracey's husband stated that his wife had been detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and taken to Delaney Hall in North New Jersey. A search of the ICE detainee locator confirmed Tracey is currently in ICE custody at the Delaney Hall facility.
