The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Ottawa have issued a public safety reminder urging residents not to bring unexploded ordnance, including World War II-era hand grenades, to police stations. The message follows an incident where an individual delivered an unexploded WWII grenade to the Ottawa OPP detachment for disposal.

Police stated that if any individual discovers such an item, they should leave it in place and contact local authorities. The OPP will then arrange for their Explosives Disposal Unit to safely remove and discard the item. The reminder highlights the potential dangers of transporting live explosives and advises the public against handling such discoveries themselves.
