Camille Grammer publicly criticized her ex-husband, actor Kelsey Grammer, for allegedly failing to acknowledge their daughter Mason’s 25th birthday. In a lengthy Instagram post, Camille Grammer claimed the “Frasier” star has “increasingly excluded” Mason from his life in recent years.
“A daughter should never have to wonder whether her father remembers her birthday. Three days later, and still not a call or a text,” Camille Grammer wrote, accompanying her post with a series of throwback photos. “You can be a beloved actor to the world, but being a father is a role that requires showing up when the cameras are off. Fame, accolades, and public admiration mean very little if you neglect the people who should matter most.”
Camille Grammer added that Mason was repeatedly checking her phone over the weekend, hoping for contact from her father. “A mother never stops hurting when her child is hurt,” she stated. “25 is a milestone birthday. Sometimes the silence is deafening, and the disappointment speaks volumes.”
Kelsey and Camille Grammer were married from 1997 to 2011 and share Mason, 25, and a 22-year-old son, Jude. Camille Grammer, an original cast member of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” detailed the contentious end of her marriage to Kelsey Grammer on the show in 2011.
In her statement, Camille Grammer also directed criticism toward Kelsey Grammer’s current wife, Kayte Walsh, suggesting a stepmother should encourage a positive relationship between a father and daughter. “Sadly, from my perspective, that hasn’t been Mason’s experience,” Camille Grammer wrote. “No matter the adult relationships involved, a daughter deserves to feel welcomed, respected, and loved — not pushed to the sidelines.”
Walsh’s romance with Kelsey Grammer began while he was still married to Camille Grammer. Kelsey Grammer married Walsh in 2011, shortly after his divorce from Camille Grammer was finalized. He and Walsh have since had three children, making him a father of eight.
Kelsey Grammer’s representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding Camille Grammer’s remarks.
