The cost of housing in Cambridge is presenting a significant challenge for Cambridge United in attracting new players, director of football Mark Bonner stated at a recent fans' forum. Bonner indicated that property prices in the city, which are among the highest outside of London, are a "big challenge" and an "issue" when it comes to recruitment.

This concern was raised in response to a question about whether the high cost of living in Cambridge deters potential signings. The club is preparing for the start of their League One campaign, with their first match scheduled for Saturday against Wigan at the Cledara Abbey Stadium.
