Cam Ward: 'I'm Not a Loser' Despite Titans' 0-5 Start

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward has publicly stated he does not consider himself a loser, despite the team's current 0-5 record to start the season. The comment came in response to a direct question during a postgame press conference following the Titans' fifth consecutive loss.

During the recent game, Ward completed 23 passes for 170 yards, and the team failed to score a single touchdown. He was also sacked four times. When asked if he had grown accustomed to losing, Ward responded, “No, I’m not a loser. The record may say that we are that right now, but at the end of the day you have to go through some stuff to get wins. We attack this each and every day, but for that, no. If you’re able to look at everybody in our locker room’s track record, we all won games at a high level. We’re looking forward to doing that in the long run.”

This season has been a challenging one for Ward and the Titans. Through five games, Ward has thrown for 896 yards on 98 completions, with three passing touchdowns and three interceptions. The team's offensive struggles are evident, as they rank last in the NFL in total yards per game, averaging 246.4, and last in points per game with 11.6.

Despite the team's performance, Head Coach Robert Saleh affirmed his support for Ward as the starting quarterback. "Cam’s our starting quarterback," Saleh stated. "We’re going to give him every opportunity to be successful this year, and we’re going to continue working with him, grinding with him and trying to help him get better."

Earlier in the season, the Titans organization made front-office changes, firing three executives amid the team's downturn. Ward has also previously addressed threats sent to his family members following the team's winless start.
