California's winery dining scene is making a national impact, with five of its establishments securing spots in the top 10 of USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards for best winery restaurants. While Amaterra Winery in Portland, Oregon, claimed the number one position, the Golden State's vineyards also received significant recognition.

Temecula Valley in Southern California was represented by Bolero Restaurante at Europa Village, which earned the second spot. The restaurant offers a Spanish-inspired menu featuring shareable dishes and local wines. The Temecula Valley Wine Country itself has been nominated for Best Wine Region in USA Today’s 2026 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

Further north, the restaurant at Francis Ford Coppola’s winery, Rustic, located in Geyserville, was ranked fourth. This establishment draws inspiration from the filmmaker’s global travels and family recipes. In Paso Robles, The Restaurant at JUSTIN, which holds a Michelin star, was recognized at number seven. Its multi-course tasting menus highlight ingredients sourced from the winery's own 260-acre farmstead.

Mama Rosa’s Trattoria in Temecula secured the sixth position. Situated at Robert Renzoni Vineyards, the casual Italian eatery is noted for its brick oven. Roblar Winery and Vineyards in Santa Ynez also made the list at number nine, lauded for a culinary program emphasizing produce from its adjacent farm.

Beyond California, Pronghorn Pizza in Sonoita, Arizona, an establishment operating within the Dos Cabezas WineWorks tasting room, unexpectedly placed eighth. Other notable wineries recognized include Farm & Forage at Sokol Blosser Winery in Dayton, Oregon (third), The Tasting Barn at Ryan William Vineyard in Burdett, New York (fifth), and The Restaurant at DeLille Cellars in Woodinville, Washington (tenth).
